Another attorney has signed on to represent several of the defendants in Brett Kimberlin’s federal lawsuit,
Enter Mark Bailen, a barrister of some note. He will represent the blog RedState, its former editor Erick Erickson, the publisher Simon & Schuster, Mercury Radio Arts, the company that broadcasts Glenn Beck’s show, Glenn Beck and Breitbart toady James O’Keefe in the case.
Prediction: His job, to see how much dough he has to put on the table to get RedState, Erick Erickson, Simon & Schuster, Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck and James O’Keefe off the hook and off the docket.
RedState has been sold, as you probably know, to right wing broadcasting giant Salem Communications, along with Erickson’s Regnery publishing house, Michelle Malking’s itchy Twitchy blog, and Human Events. Salem is also purchasing the liabilities of these companies and the smart money is on a quick settlement.
Mr. Bailen joins Linda S, Mericle, representing the Franklin Center, and Caitlin Perry Contestable representing Dan Backer and DB Capital Strategies.
Aaron Walker (snort), and WJJ Hoge (guffaw), will represent themselves.
Michelle Malkin, Lee Stranahan, R. Stacy McCain, Mandy Nagy, Breitbart.com, Kimberlin Unmasked (identified by the Patriot-Ombudsman as Lynn Thomas, Bettina Haper, perhaps Dustin Farahnak and WJJ Hoge as well), and the blogger Ace of Spades have not declared their representation yet.
Ali Akbar, CEO of Vice and Victory and the National Bloggers Club, is still hiding, pretending to not be served, although he has filed motions in Kimberlin’s state lawsuit against McCain, Walker, Hoge, Akbar and Kimberlin Unmasked.
We hear more lawyers are in the offing. Stay tooned.
